BAPTISMS!

(This week's letter is actually pretty short because Robert and I actually "chatted" via emails-He sends his love to everyone and is doing well. He says that it is pouring rain today in Raveanna. He is very excited about his friends who have received mission calls in the past few weeks and those that are waiting for their "white envelopes". He has also decided that he wants a Mini Cooper when he comes home from his mission~I think he has forgotten what Utah winters are like~He was also glad that we got the pictures and liked them)

Dear Mom and Dad!

Thank you guys so much for your emails! How are you guys doing? I hope good! Hope work and what not is going alright! Ya' thanks for the little toy target gun it's fun! ha ha .

I'm glad you guys got the pics! I'm bummed some of the videos didn't come out that well! ha ha Ya' last transfer was hecka' super fun!!! We did good work and just had a blast too! That is how the mission is supposed to be like! ha ha (This transfer is a bit different ha) but ya' on my memory card here I got pics of Como and of the baptisms and stuff! I'll probably send it home in a week or two!

OK, so you guys said you wanna' know a bit about my comp... well his name is Anziano Craig. He is from Missouri, and he doesn't really like sports. He loves army stuff and wants to enroll the second he gets home. He wants to go home so bad. All he talks about is home and it makes me miss home so bad too!!! ha ha But it's OK, it happens.

So ya' the baptisms went through! It was really amazing!! Columbus baptized his wife Lucy and his daughter Joyce. It really is amazing because not to long ago she was totally against the church. Even I have seen a change in her in the short time I've been here. It was really amazing. The spirit is always super strong at baptisms!!

So we had to go fill up the font Saturday and it normally takes 5 hours or so to do it. So we set it up and what not, so I just read the Book of Mormon a bit. It was a long morning.

OK so like funny story!! Sunday we do the confirmation's right? So President Gresta confirmed Lucy. Then he was conferring Joyce and then Freedom (he is the little 4 year old son of Columbus and Lucy) runs up in the middle of the blessing and puts his hands on her head with all of us and just gets this huge smile on his face!!!! ahhahahaha Then one of the guys in the circle pushes his hands off and then some member runs up and carries him away! ha ha It was like so funny I almost busted up!!!!! Man those are the times that you will remember for forever!!! ha ha but ya it was a great weekend. Columbus was so so happy to have his family baptized. They are so great. That's what its all about. Helping families all get baptized! Now they are working on going to the temple!!!!! how cool huh!!!

Man I miss the temple! That is one thing I'm gonna love about being home! Just having so many to choose from!

Our district meeting on Monday was about enduring!! ha ha it was super funny! I think Anz Bos did it for both of us because he knows we need it!!! ha ha But it was good and helped me a lot to look at things with a different perspective. Enduring is definitely something I'm doing at the moment!!

I really have learned even more to love the Book of Mormon. I've had a lot of extra time to read it so it's been really nice. It actually does help too! It's weird that the gospel actually works! ha ha I guess what I'm doing out here really isn't that crazy! ;) and it does make a difference!

But ya' things out here are going OK! Now we are just gonna do our best to help Cristian and Francesca out. We just dropped one of our contacts named Bondi yesterday. He had a baptismal date but we just had to let him go. That's one of the hardest things to do! But at a certain point it's what ya gotta do! (There were situations that made us come to that decision)

I hope you guys have a great!! Take care of Brian, I love him!
Love you guys!!! Vi voglio bene!!!!!

A CHILD OF GOD

Dear Mom and Dad!

How are you guys doing? I hope all is well!

This week was pretty good. It wasn't my best week ever it's still a bit rough. The end of your mission is when your supposed to give it your all. One thing that I figured out is, they do finding work differently down in the Rome mission. Our way is more effective but it's also more hard core and takes a lot more out of you.

The work here is going OK. The baptisms didn't happen last weekend because Lucy got stuck in Nigeria for an extra day so she didn't make it. (They are both Nigerian Africans). But they are both now here and passed their baptismal interviews so all is a go for this weekend! We are so happy for them they are awesome! Africans are so so cool! They are way epic. They always have cool dreams about receiving answers to prayers, it's cool!

We have this other investigator named Christian. He is Italian and lives with his girlfriend Francesca. They are both super awesome and super open. They are super cool and we are working with both of them.

Monday night I had a neat experience. We went over to his house with our branch president, and this was my first lesson with them because last week I was in Rimini when we taught them. So we walked in and Christian was there by himself and was smoking and you could just smell alcohol everywhere. Soon as we walked in we sat down and he just started crying and told us about all these problems he was having and stuff. And then everything went into slow motion for me and I saw him for as he really was. I saw him as a child of God. Instantly I was overcome with this overwhelming love for him. I just felt so bad for him and wanted to help him so much. We taught him about hope and desire and it was just a super powerful lesson! President Gresca was a great companion, and it was great because the spirit was so super strong!!!

After that I realized something that I needed to change. I realize that I tend to judge people a bit. Not intentionally but, it just happens. It's terrible and it's something I need to change, big time!!! If I can see people for who they really are I know I could be such a better missionary! It's something I'll be working on! :)

Things are OK here! I really can't work as hard as I want, but we are trying to find a good medium point. It's just hard because it kinda brings me down too, but I'm keeping my head up and doing my best.

There is this sweet quote in our apartment that I love, that I read everyday that helps me out. It says something like... if you try to help someone out by being a good example your helping two people, but if you try to help someone by not being a good example you're not helping anyone. It's so true too! I love it.

I sent home the memory card so hopefully you guys get some pics sometime this week! And yes, I got my packages and stuff!!! ha ha Thank you so much!!

I love you guys so much and thanks for all you guys do! You guys are awesome!! I hope you guys have a great week!!! Keep your heads up and keep a smile on at all times! ;)

OK so my address is...

Thanks for everything and have a great week!!! love you guys!!! :)

HAPPY HUMP DAY!!!

One year ago today we took Anziano Bona
aka Robert
to the MTC in Provo, Utah
We are so proud of all that he has done this past year.
We miss you Robert
but we wouldn't want you anywhere else,
doing anything else!

HAPPY HUMP DAY
ANZIANO BONA!
TI VOGLIAMO BENE!
keep DOING WORK!

ONE YEAR!!! 365 DAYS!!!

Hello Mom and Dad!!!

How are you guys? I hope that you guys have had a better week then I did! And it sounds like you had a really cool weekend going to those homecomings!

I really didn't know Anz Cressman that much but I heard a lot of good things about him around the mission so I know he was a solid missionary. As for the Lisonbee's, I love them! They are so nice and so amazing to use missionaries!! Ya' last p-day they took us out to get pizza and to the new fancy gelato place in Milan. It was chill! And wow! You saw the Dunaways!!! That's so so cool! Pres Dunaway is an amazing man!!! I've never seen someone bring the spirit into a meeting like he did!

But ya' its been a year now!! It's weird to think about it. ha ha It's gone by so super fast and yet so so slow! Of course I miss the usual stuff like chilling with my boys, my family and "social life"
and stuff, but I've notice I miss the small stuff a lot!!! ha ha Like carpet, gallon milk, air conditioning, driving around and stuff! ha ha! However, the mission is the coolest thing ever! There have been its up and downs but overall its been such an amazing experience!!! I really have loved it!!!

Mom do you know my favorite part about the white handbook? It's that one part that says that the mission president can change pretty much whatever he wants and like whatever he says goes! And for him the glasses and ties and stuff are totally okay, so they are fine!!! I promise it is OK! And I swear I just never take pics when I've shaved. It seems like I only take pics when I haven't! ha ha And it feels like I shave all the time! I really am doing my best! Of course I'm not perfect... not even close!! But I am trying! You know the mission is rough sometimes!!

So pretty much my district is Rimini, Forli', and Ravenna. And my DL is in Rimini so no I don't ever go to Forli', but ya I will totally try to go over there someday! I think that would be amazing to see Zio Nicola and family!! Guess who my DL is? Anz Bos!!!!! ha ha I love that kid! ha ha

So as for my comp.... well let's just say it's gonna be extremely hard. He just doesn't want to do anything. He just wants to sit inside all day long!!! He hates finding work with a passion and says that he's almost done so he just doesn't care. He doesn't do anything to help in the apartment either. We have 2 baptisms this weekend and he wouldn't even help to plan that! I barley know the people who are getting baptized and I had to plan everything for it because he won't. Ugh it's rough!! Sorry I know I shouldn't say anything, but I'm just really stressed right now!! I'm scared the work may suffer :( and I don't want that!! Because it's the Lord' work, not ours.

At the moment I'm in Rimini with Anz Bos! He and his companion are having a rough time also, so we did a scambio (splits) from Monday to Thursday!! It's been really fun to be with him again! So at the moment I don't have the address of our apartment. I'll get it to you as soon as I can. Tomorrow there is a training meeting so I should be getting my packages and stuff!! I'm excited for that!

But ya its gonna be in interesting time.... because I can't drag him around and stuff... ugh! I'm just gonna do my best to be a good example and pray that he will want to do something.... oh well, it's not the end of the world I'll be OK!! I'm gonna do my best in the situation that I'm in.

The weather here has been terrible. It's just been raining the whole time. It poured on us last night!!!! It was pretty bad.

It sounds like things back at home are going well that's really cool!! I'm happy about that! Things here are really alright too.

This last year has been crazy. It really has opened my eyes a bit to what really is important in life. There is no denying the things I've seen and felt out here! These miracles don't just happen. They happen because the gospel is true!!! I'm really excited to see what happens in this upcoming year!! It should be fun! The start might be a bit bumpy but I'll be OK :)

Well guys I hope you guys have a good week!!! I'll be sending the memory card home sometime this week!! I love you guys so much and thank you for all you guys do!!!
You guys are the best! I love you guys :)

Ravenna

Just a bit of information about Ravenna
Dante's burial tomb
Piazza al Popolo

Ravenna is known for the Mosaic art

This is where Anz Bona is serving now
Ravenna has approx. 160,000 people and is 13 ft above sea level.
Some of the best food in Italy comes from this region,
which is called Emilia Romagna

THE FORCE IS WITH ME....AND TRANSFERS!

Dear Mom and Dad,

Well I hope that you guys had a good week. I know I did.

I know my mission is an important thing and I'm doing my very best at it. I know I always don't tell all my stories or anything but that's cause I don't have time to always send super long emails all the time. but I will try to do better with that. But I promise when I get back I'll tell you guys everything.

Hey mom I'm glad you went to lunch with Bolnick's mom! He loves you for that! You and Sister Barnes are really great!

This was a pretty good week for Anz Strobelt and myself.

I don't know if I have told you guys or not but they have kinda changed the way we do teaching and finding here in the mission a bit. It's been totally different then how I was taught how to do stuff and same with Anz Strobelt, so these last few weeks we've been trying it out a lot and its just been kinda iffy because we totally weren't used to it!

On Saturday night we finally had some success with it!! We just had like a whole night of finding work with no lessons planned (those nights can get kinda long ) so we just took off like always. We had some very interesting lessons. One was with these Orthodox brothers who were interesting. They were funny but just totally not elect.

Then later we got in with this dude and it was so cool. We taught him about Joesph Smith and his whole story (the 1st lesson) and the spirit was so strong. He was totally cool and we both totally thought he was elect!!! But at the end he just said that he had some rough times with churches in the past and just really wasn't ready to let God in his life again. It was so sad. We did our very best to try to help him and let him know that God loves him and his family but he just wasn't interested. We both left that lesson really bummed! He was such a cool guy!! But we do have to respect other people and their free agency so we did. We left a pamphlet and our number.

After that lesson we were both kinda bummed and we wanted to just go get gelato. It was around 8ish or so and we had worked really hard all day and just were tired. But we were like heck no lets just finish working for the day. So we did. And then of course when we choose the right thing the Lord always does His part and blesses us!!!

So we knocked on this one door and this little girl answered and we asked for her parents and she just walked away. We looked in the house and this old dude just stared at us and then just walked away. So we are standing in the hallway of the palazzo (apartment building) and the door is just wide open. Anz Stroblet is like, "what should we do?" and I said just walk in so he did. We just walked in the house and kinda poked our heads around the corner and then this man came and started talking to us. We had such a legit lesson with him . He said he was looking for something just like this to help guide his life. His name is Manuele and is a baller!!!!! It was really cool. It is just funny how it always works like that!! There days like this, and if you just do your best the Lord just blesses you! So that was a cool story. He seems super solid and I hope he will end up getting baptized one day.

Oh another cool kinda similar story. (Dude I can't spell anymore. I never know if I'm spelling stuff right or not!!) Thursday we were doing some casa by Percy's house (the kid you guys talked to) and we knocked on this door. This kid opens the door and speaks Spanish and way bad Italian. him and his little brother are just chillin' there and we are like "siamos los elderes" ha ha!! Kinda Spanish like, and then they go get there mom and she just immediately lets us in. Her Italian is even worse then the kids, ha ha! We start trying to talk to them and stuff, and we find out that they are members!!!! So we leave real quick and went and got Percy and his brother Diego from their house because they live almost right next door. We bring them over and they start talking to them in Spanish and we find out that they have been in Italy for 2 months now and the mom has been praying that she would meet the elders on the street so she could find where the church is. And we ended up knocking on their door. It was really cool! just another testimony builder that the Lord is guiding our work! so ya those are the cool stories of the week.

On Monday we went to Como!!!! It was beautiful!! I loved it! we went on the lake and went to Bellagio!!!!! It was amazing! Don't worry I got good pics!!! ;) ha ha! We saw the house that is in the Star Wars movie. I totally felt the force when we went by it it was awesome!!! So ya' that was super fun!!!

OK so now for transfers!!!

The mission is losing some missionaries because more are leaving then are coming in so they are shutting down our coppia that they just opened. Which means me and Anz Strobelt our out!!!

Strobelt is going to Reggio Emilia, and I'm heading to Ravenna!!! It's gonna be sick (awesom)!!! I'm super stoked!!! I've heard Ravenna is awesome! It's gonna be pretty. I'm on a special assignment for President Wolfgramm now. My companion is Anz Criag, and he goes home in 2 transfers and was in the Rome mission. I'm kinda nervous about my assignment, but I'm sure all will work out just fine!

But ya' that's about all for me here. You guys will probably be getting some of my pics from this transfer sometime soon.

I love you guys tons! Thanks so much for all you guys do, and I hope you guys have a great week. I'll let you guys know how Ravenna is next week!

Bye guys love you both!!!!!
vi voglio bene

Hello family!!!

It sounds like stuff is going really well for you guys!!! Going on top of the Duomo was way chill! We got a lot of cool pics and stuff and it was awesome!! ha ha

Speaking of pictures I received your little package don't worry! Thanks for the memory cards they were much needed! I'm gonna end up sending this one home pretty soon!

Guess what? On Monday we are taking a culture day and we are going up to see Como!! We are going to go out on Lake Como and stuff! It's gonna be legit!!! ha ha

But ya' I'm way happy about Eliana!!! It makes me so happy! We are all on the same team out here! It's something that people forget sometimes 'cause they wanna see the baptism or something, but it really doesn't matter as long as it happens!!!

Percy is such a baller!! They are less active and we are working with them! We have been working with a lot of less active people lately and they've been coming back to church it's been so neat.

This man named Marco who we found is pretty solid. We gave him a baptismal date and he accepted. It should all go down on the 5th of March. But we will see, we might have to push it back a bit. Hopefully not though!

I wrote Anthony back tell him to look better!! ha ha

Things here is going well. A small miracle to share this week is that Marco accepted the baptismal date. that was great! Finding was rough.

Everything in the mission is changing and we are doing work a little different way so it will just take a bit of time to get used to but it will help us out so much more once we get it down!!! W have to do a lot more testifying from the first time we meet people...instead of just "being friends". They need to feel the spirit from the very start!

Tell everyone at home hi! And ya I wrote Sam back, but not this week 'cause I don't have a lot of time and stuff ha like always!!! ha ha

Guess what.... it's almost been year!! It's weird! Transfers are next week! I should be staying but I could be getting a new comp. Anz Strobelt has been here for a long time! But I will let you guys know!!!!

Tell Cassandra and Uncle David good luck with everything!! Hope all goes well for them!!!!

All here is going way good and I love you guys so so much!!!
Thank you guys for everything!!

I should get all the packages in a week or two!!! Thanks for everything guys i love you all!

Too bad about the Jazz but it happens!!

Most of all, don't forget the church is true!!! ;)

love you guys!!!

Love Anziano Bona!!!!

FREE AGENCY

How are you guys doing?
I hope all is well for you guys!

Things this last week had there ups and downs! But overall it went really well.

We won't be able to baptize that young man. His father said no that he doesn't want him to get baptized. He wants him to get baptized in the Orthodox church. Are you serious? Orthodox?!?! It's okay though. Anz Strobelt and I feel really confident that once he gets old enough he will get baptized. He is so solid and loves the Book of Mormon. We know we did our part in helping/teaching him. We did all we could. Not gonna lie though, it was kinda' hard for us and we were super sad about it. But you are totally right. Everyone has their free agency! That's why it was hard because he wants to be baptized so bad but his parents won't let him. It's OK though he will be fine in the long run, we totally know it.

And speaking about free agency and Eliana...
she is gonna get baptized :) Sunday :)

I'm in touch with Anz Weller and she is finally ready!!! It's so awesome!!!! I was so happy when I heard that! It doesn't matter that I'm not there to do it or see it because all of us missionaries are on the same team with the same goal! It's so cool to see the hard work finally pay off though :)

But one thing you said is totally right, we never know the impact we have because people could totally change after we go and we could never know about it. But that's okay! We don't need to! We aren't out here for self recognition.

But regarding the events of the past week... I've learned a lot about what happened. I'm totally OK!!! I promise. Hakuna Matata!!!! ;) hahaha My buddy here in my apartment Anz Bartholomew just got his "dear john" letter from his old girl friend too! Girls just have a hard time saying the right things!!!! ha ha It's just super funny. They could maybe say things in a better way! But don't worry I am totally okay!

Our work is going okay.... we had to give one of our solid investigators to the sisters....which is okay because we are all on the same team.

I was on a scambio (splits) with Anz Curtis and we found this super solid man Monday night whose daughter is a member. We had such a powerful lesson with him! It really was a miracle because we just happened to do this area right by our house and he lives basically right next to our palazzo (building). I feel sure that he will get baptized :) I will tell you more about him next time! We have a lesson with him tomorrow morning. Hopefully it goes well!

I tried to call the the numbers you gave me..... no answers... ugh o well! I can try again!

Thanks for your support and love! It totally helps and I can feel your prayers. They really do help. Prayer is so powerful!!!! Things happen for a reason!!!! :) Remember that!!

Well I love you guys so much! I hope you guys have a great week!

I haven't gotten the pics from you guys.... I think someone messed with the letter.... I might not get it..... :( But can you send another memory card so I can send this one home? I already have over 200 pics, and we are going on top of the Duomo today so I'm gonna get even more!!! :)

Well I love you guys tons! Have a great day!
Can't wait to hear from you guys soon!

Vi voglio bene!!!!
Love
Anziano Bona!!!

PS... I'll keep my eye out for the package!!!

LOTS OF FINDING WORK

Dear Mom and Dad!!!

It sounds like things are going rather smoothly at home and for that I'm thankful!

Last p-day was super chill!!! I loved it! The Da Vinci painting was so cool! And we found this super legit gelato place that is the best thing I have ever had!!! It's legit!!! When we come back I'll take you guys to it!

OK so this is how Milan works. There is us. Then there is another coppia in our apartment. Then there are the sisters, and all of us are in Milano 2. Then there are the capi zona (zone leaders) in Milano 3 and another coppia of sisters and that's all the missionaries in Milan. it's not that we are in a place where work has never been done it's just we're in a place that doesn't get done as much.

But ya' the work for us is going good. We are still 100% every time we go out we get inside a house and teach about Joesph Smith. We have found a good amount of people but it's still a bit to early to know if they are solid or not. We did find this lady yesterday morning who is studying with the j-dubs (testimoni de geova) (Jehova Witness) and she said she is just looking for the right church. So she's way interested and stuff so that's chill. J-dubs always getting in our way. They love arguing with us. Don't worry we are nice.

But honestly it's been really cool to see Anz Strobelt and I do work together! We are both doing well with the language and teach alike so it's chill. We have told ourselves we are not going inside without finding new investigators and it's worked out so far! We are gonna try to keep up this energy all transfer.

Today we are gonna go out and chill down town and look at all the nice rich stores!!! ha ha They have some sick Nike stores!!! So tempting 'cause everything is on sale right now!!!!

Wow go Packers!!!!! And hopefully the Jazz get on their a game!!! And ya' if you could send me some of the razor heads that would be really nice :) and I'll see what I can do about that. I have been keeping it up better out here in Milan. No I haven't got the memory cards yet! I hope I do though soon!

But ya there really isn't anything super cool to tell you guys. We just do a lot of finding work and talk with like a billion people a week. It's really cool :)

I love Italy!!!

About that book thing... um... just do whatever you think is best cause I really don't know! ha ha

but um.... ya' guess what? I love you guys!!! And all is going well! Tell everyone at home hi!!! and that I love them too. Sorry my letters aren't to cool... i don't have to much to say!!!
I hope you guys have a great week!!!
love you guys!

vi voglio bene

MILANO - I LOVE IT

Dear Mom and Dad!!!

first thing is first... my new address is

viale monza 169
20125 milano (ml)
italia

Thanks for your emails! Dad I loved the message from Pres Monson. It was super legit and super true!! Charity is key. It's really hard to have but super important as well!!

It sounds like things are going really good at home as always so I'm happy for that!! but, I'm bummed about the Ravens but it's OK there is always next year! Though it stinks I'm gonna miss the super bowl next year too! :( oh well I'm doing much more important stuff at the moment! :)

I'm glad you guys got and liked my my pics and videos! Anz Weller and I had a lot of fun :) I love that kid.

OK so now a bit about Milano....

So... my comp is Anz Strobelt. He is starting his 4th transfer and is from New York! He's a really cool kid. We get along really well. We think we are gonna have a really good transfer! One thing that I found out right when I got to Milano is that we are also opening a coppia here in Milano 2. So basically that means that we are in a part of the city where no work has been done and we start from 0 (zero), like no investigators nothing.... ha ha so that means a lot of finding work for us!!!! ha ha But the thing is, we work so good together!!

Every time we have left the apartment we have been able to get into peoples houses and get new investigators. We are now both bringing our A-game and are seeing miracles happen! We have told ourselves that we are not coming home without getting into someones house and teaching them about the restored gospel and that's exactly what we have done!!! We have had some really good lessons and we just teach so well together! I'm excited for the work that we are gonna do this transfer!!!

We started off and we were getting rejected all day long and stuff but then I was all, come on we need to have a good attitude so the Lord can lead us to His elect and then that's what happened!!! Attitude is really key too!!

We have already had some crazy times together! We got the cops called on us 6 times in one palazzo but luckily we got into a house so they couldn't do anything to us!!! ha ha It was awesome!! This dude tried to kick us out of this one palazzo and I wouldn't leave 'cause I told him we got stuff to do and we have permission legally to be here, he like started pushing me and then I just walked around him and then he wanted to fight me, it was really funny. I don't know why I always get the people that wanna fight! I told him I wasn't gonna fight him and then he started calling me a bunch of bad words and stuff and then i just laughed at him and walked away. Man some Italians are crazy!!! ha ha But we have still done some really good work out here and are going to continue to do so. I think we found like a good spark and now I've pulled my head out and now ready to do good work!

A really cool thing about our apartment is is that we have a bench press in there so we work out in the mornings now! Time to get back into shape!!! ;) ha ha. and yup the tie is still the same and always will be!!!! :) but um... you can send some snacks.... :) that's always fun!!! ha ha and like the normal face wash stuff. Nothing special just like whatever you want! but ya I'm pretty good on ties!!! for now! ;) ha ha

Today is p-day right so this senior couple who are serving here named the Lisonbees got us tickets to go see the painting of the Last Supper so we are gonna do that! They are also taking us to lunch so that's cool too!!! I'm excited!!!

Oh in our apartment there is me and Strobelt, then we got Bartholomew (not my old comp but a different one) and he is training this kid from England named Anz Wilkonsin. They are all super chill and we get along and are having a great time!

Thanks for everything guys!!! Send me everything :) ha ha
I love you guys so much and am thankful for everything!!
I hope you guys have a great week!!!
Love you guys tons but I gotta go now!!

vi voglio bene!!!!! ciao ciao!!!!
love forever!!

GOODBYE ALESSANDRIA

Here are the last pictures of Anziano Bona and Weller
together in Alessandria.
They had a lot of great experiences together.
Anziano Bona will always have very fond memories of his time there.

Milano-Duomo
they had to go there for Anz Weller's tooth ache.
