ONE YEAR!!! 365 DAYS!!!

Hello Mom and Dad!!!

How are you guys? I hope that you guys have had a better week then I did! And it sounds like you had a really cool weekend going to those homecomings!

I really didn't know Anz Cressman that much but I heard a lot of good things about him around the mission so I know he was a solid missionary. As for the Lisonbee's, I love them! They are so nice and so amazing to use missionaries!! Ya' last p-day they took us out to get pizza and to the new fancy gelato place in Milan. It was chill! And wow! You saw the Dunaways!!! That's so so cool! Pres Dunaway is an amazing man!!! I've never seen someone bring the spirit into a meeting like he did!

But ya' its been a year now!! It's weird to think about it. ha ha It's gone by so super fast and yet so so slow! Of course I miss the usual stuff like chilling with my boys, my family and "social life"
and stuff, but I've notice I miss the small stuff a lot!!! ha ha Like carpet, gallon milk, air conditioning, driving around and stuff! ha ha! However, the mission is the coolest thing ever! There have been its up and downs but overall its been such an amazing experience!!! I really have loved it!!!

Mom do you know my favorite part about the white handbook? It's that one part that says that the mission president can change pretty much whatever he wants and like whatever he says goes! And for him the glasses and ties and stuff are totally okay, so they are fine!!! I promise it is OK! And I swear I just never take pics when I've shaved. It seems like I only take pics when I haven't! ha ha And it feels like I shave all the time! I really am doing my best! Of course I'm not perfect... not even close!! But I am trying! You know the mission is rough sometimes!!

So pretty much my district is Rimini, Forli', and Ravenna. And my DL is in Rimini so no I don't ever go to Forli', but ya I will totally try to go over there someday! I think that would be amazing to see Zio Nicola and family!! Guess who my DL is? Anz Bos!!!!! ha ha I love that kid! ha ha

So as for my comp.... well let's just say it's gonna be extremely hard. He just doesn't want to do anything. He just wants to sit inside all day long!!! He hates finding work with a passion and says that he's almost done so he just doesn't care. He doesn't do anything to help in the apartment either. We have 2 baptisms this weekend and he wouldn't even help to plan that! I barley know the people who are getting baptized and I had to plan everything for it because he won't. Ugh it's rough!! Sorry I know I shouldn't say anything, but I'm just really stressed right now!! I'm scared the work may suffer :( and I don't want that!! Because it's the Lord' work, not ours.

At the moment I'm in Rimini with Anz Bos! He and his companion are having a rough time also, so we did a scambio (splits) from Monday to Thursday!! It's been really fun to be with him again! So at the moment I don't have the address of our apartment. I'll get it to you as soon as I can. Tomorrow there is a training meeting so I should be getting my packages and stuff!! I'm excited for that!

But ya its gonna be in interesting time.... because I can't drag him around and stuff... ugh! I'm just gonna do my best to be a good example and pray that he will want to do something.... oh well, it's not the end of the world I'll be OK!! I'm gonna do my best in the situation that I'm in.

The weather here has been terrible. It's just been raining the whole time. It poured on us last night!!!! It was pretty bad.

It sounds like things back at home are going well that's really cool!! I'm happy about that! Things here are really alright too.

This last year has been crazy. It really has opened my eyes a bit to what really is important in life. There is no denying the things I've seen and felt out here! These miracles don't just happen. They happen because the gospel is true!!! I'm really excited to see what happens in this upcoming year!! It should be fun! The start might be a bit bumpy but I'll be OK :)

Well guys I hope you guys have a good week!!! I'll be sending the memory card home sometime this week!! I love you guys so much and thank you for all you guys do!!!
You guys are the best! I love you guys :)

love

Ravenna

Just a bit of information about Ravenna
Dante's burial tomb
Piazza al Popolo

Ravenna is known for the Mosaic art

This is where Anz Bona is serving now
Ravenna has approx. 160,000 people and is 13 ft above sea level.
Some of the best food in Italy comes from this region,
which is called Emilia Romagna

THE FORCE IS WITH ME....AND TRANSFERS!

Dear Mom and Dad,

Well I hope that you guys had a good week. I know I did.

I know my mission is an important thing and I'm doing my very best at it. I know I always don't tell all my stories or anything but that's cause I don't have time to always send super long emails all the time. but I will try to do better with that. But I promise when I get back I'll tell you guys everything.

Hey mom I'm glad you went to lunch with Bolnick's mom! He loves you for that! You and Sister Barnes are really great!

This was a pretty good week for Anz Strobelt and myself.

I don't know if I have told you guys or not but they have kinda changed the way we do teaching and finding here in the mission a bit. It's been totally different then how I was taught how to do stuff and same with Anz Strobelt, so these last few weeks we've been trying it out a lot and its just been kinda iffy because we totally weren't used to it!

On Saturday night we finally had some success with it!! We just had like a whole night of finding work with no lessons planned (those nights can get kinda long ) so we just took off like always. We had some very interesting lessons. One was with these Orthodox brothers who were interesting. They were funny but just totally not elect.

Then later we got in with this dude and it was so cool. We taught him about Joesph Smith and his whole story (the 1st lesson) and the spirit was so strong. He was totally cool and we both totally thought he was elect!!! But at the end he just said that he had some rough times with churches in the past and just really wasn't ready to let God in his life again. It was so sad. We did our very best to try to help him and let him know that God loves him and his family but he just wasn't interested. We both left that lesson really bummed! He was such a cool guy!! But we do have to respect other people and their free agency so we did. We left a pamphlet and our number.

After that lesson we were both kinda bummed and we wanted to just go get gelato. It was around 8ish or so and we had worked really hard all day and just were tired. But we were like heck no lets just finish working for the day. So we did. And then of course when we choose the right thing the Lord always does His part and blesses us!!!

So we knocked on this one door and this little girl answered and we asked for her parents and she just walked away. We looked in the house and this old dude just stared at us and then just walked away. So we are standing in the hallway of the palazzo (apartment building) and the door is just wide open. Anz Stroblet is like, "what should we do?" and I said just walk in so he did. We just walked in the house and kinda poked our heads around the corner and then this man came and started talking to us. We had such a legit lesson with him . He said he was looking for something just like this to help guide his life. His name is Manuele and is a baller!!!!! It was really cool. It is just funny how it always works like that!! There days like this, and if you just do your best the Lord just blesses you! So that was a cool story. He seems super solid and I hope he will end up getting baptized one day.

Oh another cool kinda similar story. (Dude I can't spell anymore. I never know if I'm spelling stuff right or not!!) Thursday we were doing some casa by Percy's house (the kid you guys talked to) and we knocked on this door. This kid opens the door and speaks Spanish and way bad Italian. him and his little brother are just chillin' there and we are like "siamos los elderes" ha ha!! Kinda Spanish like, and then they go get there mom and she just immediately lets us in. Her Italian is even worse then the kids, ha ha! We start trying to talk to them and stuff, and we find out that they are members!!!! So we leave real quick and went and got Percy and his brother Diego from their house because they live almost right next door. We bring them over and they start talking to them in Spanish and we find out that they have been in Italy for 2 months now and the mom has been praying that she would meet the elders on the street so she could find where the church is. And we ended up knocking on their door. It was really cool! just another testimony builder that the Lord is guiding our work! so ya those are the cool stories of the week.

On Monday we went to Como!!!! It was beautiful!! I loved it! we went on the lake and went to Bellagio!!!!! It was amazing! Don't worry I got good pics!!! ;) ha ha! We saw the house that is in the Star Wars movie. I totally felt the force when we went by it it was awesome!!! So ya' that was super fun!!!

OK so now for transfers!!!

The mission is losing some missionaries because more are leaving then are coming in so they are shutting down our coppia that they just opened. Which means me and Anz Strobelt our out!!!

Strobelt is going to Reggio Emilia, and I'm heading to Ravenna!!! It's gonna be sick (awesom)!!! I'm super stoked!!! I've heard Ravenna is awesome! It's gonna be pretty. I'm on a special assignment for President Wolfgramm now. My companion is Anz Criag, and he goes home in 2 transfers and was in the Rome mission. I'm kinda nervous about my assignment, but I'm sure all will work out just fine!

But ya' that's about all for me here. You guys will probably be getting some of my pics from this transfer sometime soon.

I love you guys tons! Thanks so much for all you guys do, and I hope you guys have a great week. I'll let you guys know how Ravenna is next week!

Bye guys love you both!!!!!
vi voglio bene

Hello family!!!

It sounds like stuff is going really well for you guys!!! Going on top of the Duomo was way chill! We got a lot of cool pics and stuff and it was awesome!! ha ha

Speaking of pictures I received your little package don't worry! Thanks for the memory cards they were much needed! I'm gonna end up sending this one home pretty soon!

Guess what? On Monday we are taking a culture day and we are going up to see Como!! We are going to go out on Lake Como and stuff! It's gonna be legit!!! ha ha

But ya' I'm way happy about Eliana!!! It makes me so happy! We are all on the same team out here! It's something that people forget sometimes 'cause they wanna see the baptism or something, but it really doesn't matter as long as it happens!!!

Percy is such a baller!! They are less active and we are working with them! We have been working with a lot of less active people lately and they've been coming back to church it's been so neat.

This man named Marco who we found is pretty solid. We gave him a baptismal date and he accepted. It should all go down on the 5th of March. But we will see, we might have to push it back a bit. Hopefully not though!

I wrote Anthony back tell him to look better!! ha ha

Things here is going well. A small miracle to share this week is that Marco accepted the baptismal date. that was great! Finding was rough.

Everything in the mission is changing and we are doing work a little different way so it will just take a bit of time to get used to but it will help us out so much more once we get it down!!! W have to do a lot more testifying from the first time we meet people...instead of just "being friends". They need to feel the spirit from the very start!

Tell everyone at home hi! And ya I wrote Sam back, but not this week 'cause I don't have a lot of time and stuff ha like always!!! ha ha

Guess what.... it's almost been year!! It's weird! Transfers are next week! I should be staying but I could be getting a new comp. Anz Strobelt has been here for a long time! But I will let you guys know!!!!

Tell Cassandra and Uncle David good luck with everything!! Hope all goes well for them!!!!

All here is going way good and I love you guys so so much!!!
Thank you guys for everything!!

I should get all the packages in a week or two!!! Thanks for everything guys i love you all!

Too bad about the Jazz but it happens!!

Most of all, don't forget the church is true!!! ;)

love you guys!!!

Love Anziano Bona!!!!

FREE AGENCY

How are you guys doing?
I hope all is well for you guys!

Things this last week had there ups and downs! But overall it went really well.

We won't be able to baptize that young man. His father said no that he doesn't want him to get baptized. He wants him to get baptized in the Orthodox church. Are you serious? Orthodox?!?! It's okay though. Anz Strobelt and I feel really confident that once he gets old enough he will get baptized. He is so solid and loves the Book of Mormon. We know we did our part in helping/teaching him. We did all we could. Not gonna lie though, it was kinda' hard for us and we were super sad about it. But you are totally right. Everyone has their free agency! That's why it was hard because he wants to be baptized so bad but his parents won't let him. It's OK though he will be fine in the long run, we totally know it.

And speaking about free agency and Eliana...
she is gonna get baptized :) Sunday :)

I'm in touch with Anz Weller and she is finally ready!!! It's so awesome!!!! I was so happy when I heard that! It doesn't matter that I'm not there to do it or see it because all of us missionaries are on the same team with the same goal! It's so cool to see the hard work finally pay off though :)

But one thing you said is totally right, we never know the impact we have because people could totally change after we go and we could never know about it. But that's okay! We don't need to! We aren't out here for self recognition.

But regarding the events of the past week... I've learned a lot about what happened. I'm totally OK!!! I promise. Hakuna Matata!!!! ;) hahaha My buddy here in my apartment Anz Bartholomew just got his "dear john" letter from his old girl friend too! Girls just have a hard time saying the right things!!!! ha ha It's just super funny. They could maybe say things in a better way! But don't worry I am totally okay!

Our work is going okay.... we had to give one of our solid investigators to the sisters....which is okay because we are all on the same team.

I was on a scambio (splits) with Anz Curtis and we found this super solid man Monday night whose daughter is a member. We had such a powerful lesson with him! It really was a miracle because we just happened to do this area right by our house and he lives basically right next to our palazzo (building). I feel sure that he will get baptized :) I will tell you more about him next time! We have a lesson with him tomorrow morning. Hopefully it goes well!

I tried to call the the numbers you gave me..... no answers... ugh o well! I can try again!

Thanks for your support and love! It totally helps and I can feel your prayers. They really do help. Prayer is so powerful!!!! Things happen for a reason!!!! :) Remember that!!

Well I love you guys so much! I hope you guys have a great week!

I haven't gotten the pics from you guys.... I think someone messed with the letter.... I might not get it..... :( But can you send another memory card so I can send this one home? I already have over 200 pics, and we are going on top of the Duomo today so I'm gonna get even more!!! :)

Well I love you guys tons! Have a great day!
Can't wait to hear from you guys soon!

Vi voglio bene!!!!
Love
Anziano Bona!!!

PS... I'll keep my eye out for the package!!!

LOTS OF FINDING WORK

Dear Mom and Dad!!!

It sounds like things are going rather smoothly at home and for that I'm thankful!

Last p-day was super chill!!! I loved it! The Da Vinci painting was so cool! And we found this super legit gelato place that is the best thing I have ever had!!! It's legit!!! When we come back I'll take you guys to it!

OK so this is how Milan works. There is us. Then there is another coppia in our apartment. Then there are the sisters, and all of us are in Milano 2. Then there are the capi zona (zone leaders) in Milano 3 and another coppia of sisters and that's all the missionaries in Milan. it's not that we are in a place where work has never been done it's just we're in a place that doesn't get done as much.

But ya' the work for us is going good. We are still 100% every time we go out we get inside a house and teach about Joesph Smith. We have found a good amount of people but it's still a bit to early to know if they are solid or not. We did find this lady yesterday morning who is studying with the j-dubs (testimoni de geova) (Jehova Witness) and she said she is just looking for the right church. So she's way interested and stuff so that's chill. J-dubs always getting in our way. They love arguing with us. Don't worry we are nice.

But honestly it's been really cool to see Anz Strobelt and I do work together! We are both doing well with the language and teach alike so it's chill. We have told ourselves we are not going inside without finding new investigators and it's worked out so far! We are gonna try to keep up this energy all transfer.

Today we are gonna go out and chill down town and look at all the nice rich stores!!! ha ha They have some sick Nike stores!!! So tempting 'cause everything is on sale right now!!!!

Wow go Packers!!!!! And hopefully the Jazz get on their a game!!! And ya' if you could send me some of the razor heads that would be really nice :) and I'll see what I can do about that. I have been keeping it up better out here in Milan. No I haven't got the memory cards yet! I hope I do though soon!

But ya there really isn't anything super cool to tell you guys. We just do a lot of finding work and talk with like a billion people a week. It's really cool :)

I love Italy!!!

About that book thing... um... just do whatever you think is best cause I really don't know! ha ha

but um.... ya' guess what? I love you guys!!! And all is going well! Tell everyone at home hi!!! and that I love them too. Sorry my letters aren't to cool... i don't have to much to say!!!
I hope you guys have a great week!!!
love you guys!

vi voglio bene

MILANO - I LOVE IT

Dear Mom and Dad!!!

first thing is first... my new address is

viale monza 169
20125 milano (ml)
italia

Thanks for your emails! Dad I loved the message from Pres Monson. It was super legit and super true!! Charity is key. It's really hard to have but super important as well!!

It sounds like things are going really good at home as always so I'm happy for that!! but, I'm bummed about the Ravens but it's OK there is always next year! Though it stinks I'm gonna miss the super bowl next year too! :( oh well I'm doing much more important stuff at the moment! :)

I'm glad you guys got and liked my my pics and videos! Anz Weller and I had a lot of fun :) I love that kid.

OK so now a bit about Milano....

So... my comp is Anz Strobelt. He is starting his 4th transfer and is from New York! He's a really cool kid. We get along really well. We think we are gonna have a really good transfer! One thing that I found out right when I got to Milano is that we are also opening a coppia here in Milano 2. So basically that means that we are in a part of the city where no work has been done and we start from 0 (zero), like no investigators nothing.... ha ha so that means a lot of finding work for us!!!! ha ha But the thing is, we work so good together!!

Every time we have left the apartment we have been able to get into peoples houses and get new investigators. We are now both bringing our A-game and are seeing miracles happen! We have told ourselves that we are not coming home without getting into someones house and teaching them about the restored gospel and that's exactly what we have done!!! We have had some really good lessons and we just teach so well together! I'm excited for the work that we are gonna do this transfer!!!

We started off and we were getting rejected all day long and stuff but then I was all, come on we need to have a good attitude so the Lord can lead us to His elect and then that's what happened!!! Attitude is really key too!!

We have already had some crazy times together! We got the cops called on us 6 times in one palazzo but luckily we got into a house so they couldn't do anything to us!!! ha ha It was awesome!! This dude tried to kick us out of this one palazzo and I wouldn't leave 'cause I told him we got stuff to do and we have permission legally to be here, he like started pushing me and then I just walked around him and then he wanted to fight me, it was really funny. I don't know why I always get the people that wanna fight! I told him I wasn't gonna fight him and then he started calling me a bunch of bad words and stuff and then i just laughed at him and walked away. Man some Italians are crazy!!! ha ha But we have still done some really good work out here and are going to continue to do so. I think we found like a good spark and now I've pulled my head out and now ready to do good work!

A really cool thing about our apartment is is that we have a bench press in there so we work out in the mornings now! Time to get back into shape!!! ;) ha ha. and yup the tie is still the same and always will be!!!! :) but um... you can send some snacks.... :) that's always fun!!! ha ha and like the normal face wash stuff. Nothing special just like whatever you want! but ya I'm pretty good on ties!!! for now! ;) ha ha

Today is p-day right so this senior couple who are serving here named the Lisonbees got us tickets to go see the painting of the Last Supper so we are gonna do that! They are also taking us to lunch so that's cool too!!! I'm excited!!!

Oh in our apartment there is me and Strobelt, then we got Bartholomew (not my old comp but a different one) and he is training this kid from England named Anz Wilkonsin. They are all super chill and we get along and are having a great time!

Thanks for everything guys!!! Send me everything :) ha ha
I love you guys so much and am thankful for everything!!
I hope you guys have a great week!!!
Love you guys tons but I gotta go now!!

vi voglio bene!!!!! ciao ciao!!!!
love forever!!

Dear Mom and Dad,
Thanks for the birthday wishes! You guys are awesome, I love you both so much! Yay for 20 years old right? My teen years are over! Just about... Zio Pino came and took me and Anz Weller to lunch!! It was awesome!! :) I love him! It's really cool 'cause now we can actually talk and communicate really good! We went to the Chinese restaurant! I love that place it was really yummy! We had a great time! He also gave me a watch for my birthday! He is so nice! So that's what happened this morning and it was really cool!

OK so now for the news about last night....

Transfer calls came and...... I'm out! I'm getting transferred. I'm heading to Milano! I will now be in the big city! I'm stoked its gonna be way fun! I'm gonna be with Anz Strobelt and he will be starting his 4th transfer. I'm excited! Anz Weller is staying here and will be with Anz Gammel. That's pretty much the big new for the week!

Anz Weller and I have had a great week. We got back on course and found a lot of new investigators!

We really don't know whats going on with Ortu or anything 'cause he hasn't called us and he won't answer us but its OK. Eliana is alright. She's pretty sad that I'm leaving but its OK. We are going over to their house to say goodbye and so I can tell her one last time she needs to get baptized!!!

I don't why but I don't have any memory cards right now! I have one but it doesn't really work it's so weird! So next week once I get you our new address please send me one asap! thanks! :)

I'm glad things are going good at home! Brian is a baller! Mom you're working a lot... and dad is ripping his pants... ya that sounds about right! ;) Ha Ha! Everything is still all the same at home! ;) ha ha jk! love you dad! ha ha

I didn't get anything from Anthony but I'm glad he's moving back to Utah, that'll be good. I love that kid he's a good guy. But hey guys sorry I gotta keep this one short. I got a lot of stuff I gotta do!

But ya I'm out to Milano!!! I'll tell you guys more and how everything is going next week!!
I love you guys so much!!! Have a great week!

A NEW YEAR

Dear Mom and Dad!

Thank you guys for your emails again! I'm glad you guys enjoyed my little thought! ha ha I thought it'd be nice to say hi! and I should be sending home another memory card today. It has a few videos and around 200 pics or so! Hopefully you guys get it around this time next week! Hope you enjoy them! As for the other memory card I would probably wait till transfers and then send it in a letter, 'cause I don't know exactly when the next zone conference thing in January is!! So just do it that way.

So.... let me know who wins the big game!!! It should be close to the playoffs for pros. I'm glad the Jazz are still ballers!! ha ha

So let me answer the questions real quick....
Coolest thing I ate was this cheese crazy thing with prosciutto in it. We got it in Milano yesterday:) I'll explain later why we were there ha ha
Best experience... going to Milan...
Coldest weather... don't the temperature but really cold! ha ha and yup we are still on bikes.

So basically it was a really rough week for the work, again. We started last week with 3 baptismal dates and now we have 0.

Today that man Ortu is getting kicked out of his apartment and we are currently doing a fast for him 'cause we really are looking for a miracle cause there is nothing that we can do...

The kid in the wheelchair has basically fallen off the face of the earth. We haven't seen him in 3 weeks. They won't answer our calls and are like always busy when we pass by.

With Eliana we are at a stand still.... there is not much more we can tell her to help her- she knows everything... so we either have to drop her or she needs to start progressing in some way!!! I guess we will see this week how things go!

And nope people still don't wanna talk to us! They rarely do! But for all the Italians it's still holiday season and don't wanna be bugged. Next transfer will be better 'cause there will be less crazy stuff and be back to normal!

We are definitely being tried right now. It's been pretty rough lately but its OK. We know that if we endure well that the Lord will bless us and eventually we will start seeing good work being done. It's just difficult because it would be so easy to get lazy and not want to do anything when all things fly out the window, but its OK. Piano Piano (slowly slowly) we are turning things around. There has just been so much random stuff stopping us from working.

New Years eve we were in by 7pm and I was asleep by 10. I woke up at 12 though cause of all the fireworks and the strip club next door was having a huge party and it was so dang loud! ha ha! But then I fell asleep around 1. But ya' the next day all we did was clean all dang day long!!! It was nasty! You guys know how I feel about cleaning!! ha ha and Dad guess what... I cleaned the bathroom! Remember all the times you guys would argue with me and try to get me to clean the bathroom and I never would! Well i finally did it! I did the toilet and bide' and everything! So nasty but now its all nice and sparkly clean!! I was just thinking of how dad feels cause he does it all the time at home! Dad I'll help you from now on when I get back! ha ha!

Yesterday we got to go to Milano because Anz Weller had a tooth ache and the dentist in Milano speaks English so that's where we go. We saw the duomo and ate some food and I bought a tie and it was chill! It was fun for us but bad for the work 'cause it took all day long! But this week we are gonna work really had and make up for it! We have too!!!

Don't worry things here are going OK! We are keeping our heads up and working through our trails. I love the part in D&C where Joesph Smith is being tried then the Lord explains and tells him even if all these terrible things happened to you it will be for your profit and learning. And that's true for everyone! All of our trails are for our profit and learning! And that's what Anz Weller and I are doing! We are doing our bests to keep our heads up and learn from all these things!

Thanks for your emails! I love you guys so much! You guys are the best! Go mom for going to all of church and staying awake the whole time! ;) ha ha you guys are the best!

Tell Brian that he will never be a better driver then me! He might get bigger but never a better driver! ha ha well I gotta go! Have a great week! I love you guys so much! Until next time!
vi voglio bene!!! :)
Anziano Bona

POSTCARD

A QUICK AFTER CHRISTMAS NOTE

Dear fam!!
Well this email might be a bit shorter 'cause you guys know about everything that's happened! Not much has happened these past 2 days. Nothing special!

But ya' it was really cool to hear and talk to you guys!!! I loved it! And then after that we went and watched Tarzan! Man I love Disney movies!! So legit! And for next time skype is allowed it just depends if I can get to a computer with a camera on it! I guess we will just have to wait and see!

But ya Zio Pino can't make it. And I don't think I can do it next week. We have a lot of things we need to do, hopefully I just don't get transferred and stay for one more, but ya you're right it's really up in the air right now. I could stay or leave. It wouldn't be a surprise for either one. I'll let you guys know though!

There should be some type of zone conference /training stuff in January. Totally send a package that's totally cool. But ya send it kinda soon and to the mission office.

Dad thanks for the updates!!! I do miss sports and what not! Oh well it's worth it.
Oh my heck I can't believe Brian!! ha ha bless his heart! ha ha That's funny though they are all chill! ha ha I'm glad to hear that all is go in well.

For new years eve we gotta be inside at 7pm and on new years day we have to stay inside all day and clean the apartment. so i think we will be fine ha ha but ya I can see Italians just being crazy ha ha!

Midnight mass was awesome!!! Loved it!!!

Thanks for all you guys do! You're right time goes by fast! Almost 1/2 way done.... kinda happy but sad at the same time... ha ha hard to explain! But ya the mission is great :)

Happy New Years!!!!! Have a great week! Hear from you guys next week!!

vi voglio bene!!

CHRISTMAS PHONE CALL

ALL THAT I CAN SAY IS.....IT WAS WONDERFUL!

What a treat it was to have Robert call us Christmas morning. He is doing great!
His Italian is great too....it was so neat to hear him speak in his native language and to hear the happiness and joy in his voice as he shared some of his experiences with us.

One thing that he said that made us laugh...he said to me..."mom, do you know that when you speak Italian you sound funny (meaning different from Italians)? My reply was..."have you heard yourself speak in Italian?"... It least I can say that I wasn't born there and I'm not Italian...but it sure did make us chuckle!

Robert loves Alessandria, and the members there have treated him so well...We are so thankful to each one of them for watching over him during his service there. Between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day they have 4 lunch/dinner invitations and also watched a few Disney movies on Christmas Day with a member.

Robert and Anz Weller also had the opportunity to go to midnight mass on Christmas Eve (something that I remember doing as a missionary). He was very surprised at the traditions, etc..that they do there. One comment he made was that the incense would make him high if he had to smell them all the time. (Same thought I had when I went). However he made the comment that it was good to see what others believe and practice.

He also expressed his feelings about Eliana.....she has set a baptismal date several times now..but has never followed through. Mainly because of her difficulty with the word or wisdom...she hasn't been able to give up cigarettes. From what he said, she has a few problems in her life and when she gets stressed out she smokes. Robert finally said that he asked her...look..when you smoke do you feel better, do your problems go away or are they solved? of course the answer to all the questions was no...so then he told her that if she tried something new and would put her faith in the Lord that maybe things would actually work out better for her, and her family. I was very impressed with that.

Robert loved his Christmas packages and presents! But his comment has been all along that Christmas isn't about the presents. It's about the Savior.

He sends his warmest Christmas wishes to each one of you..and wishes you all a wonderful new year. He expressed his love and appreciation to all his friends who are writing to him and their support while he is serving the Lord.

Now let the countdown begin for Mother's Day...and who knows..Maybe we can Skpe!!!

-4 CHRISTMAS CALL COUNTDOWN

Dear family!!!!

Holy freak!!!! ha ha it was so dang good to hear from them! :) (Trent, Michael, and Anthony) it really did make me so happy! Jeez I love those boys! I'm so dang excited for that video! It better work or I'll like cry!!! ha ha And I'm really happy that they are doing well! That makes me so dang happy too! Man I miss them! :)

It sounds like everything at home is going well, as usual! That makes me so happy too! ha ha What the heck is up with the Tabernacle!? Ya that is so crazy! I'm glad no one got hurt too!

And sorry for not writing you guys yesterday! My bad! We went to Torino and went to the Egyptian museum and chilled in Torino for a while so we didn't have time to email so we are doing it today! Alessandria doesn't have a lot of sights, so we went to a bigger city to actually do something for p-day!!! It was fun!! Torino is way chill!

Zio Pino and I are planning for next week!!! Call him and tell him to meet us at my apartment at 11!!! We are open from 11-2. It would be so cool to see him one more time before transfers!! This time it's a lot more likely for me to get sent somewhere else. But I guess we will just see!!!

I'm excited to get Ali's email!!! She's the best! And good for her that she got accepted!! (To study abroad in Italy, next fall) ha ha thats so dang fun! That would be so epic to see her!! ha ha

Yes I got your number don't worry and ya' around 9-10am your time is when I should be callin!!! ha ha ya' that's for sure gonna be the best part of the day!! ha ha and I think we are also gonna watch a disney movie Christmas too cause we can!! I'll explain everything when I call so I'll keep this email a bit shorter!!

Man I love you guys so much and I'm so excited to hear from you guys!! And about the tie, I just wanted to get Anz Weller something 'cause it's his first Christmas and his package from his fam didn't make it in time so he won't get it until January and I want him to have somethin to open too so I had to get him something.

The work is goin ok it's just a hard to find people period around here and Christmas just doesn't help. It's really funny to say Merry Christmas to all the Muslim people though!! They just look at you funny. President said don't use a lot of time trying to convert them cause they will talk to you but won't listen to anything you say, so now the first thing I say is "Hey do you want to change and become Christian?" and they say no, so then we just leave and it saves us a lot of time. The first time I did it a few days ago Anz Weller just started laughing when I said it! Things really are goin great!

I love you guys so much! I'll explain everything a lot more when I call you guys!!!
Be ready! ;) haha
Love you guys have a great Christmas!!
BUON NATALE!!!!!!!

vi voglio bene :)

T'was the Week Before Christmas and Trials Abound

Dear Mom and Dad!!

I'm doing alright!!!
It's been a very interesting week!
Ha I think its super funny that you email Lorenza!! I love her she's great! ha ha

But ya Eliana didn't get baptized. So she was supposed to get baptized this Saturday (the 18th). Until everything hit the fan Monday and then she relapsed, and a whole bunch of other stuff happened Monday!!! ugh!!! It was just a day where like all heck broke lose and our investigators just got owned by Satan. Mattia was the only one who like didn't just get owned thank heavens!!!

It was a very humbling day. It was pretty rough but Anz Weller and I both know that it was just a prova della nostra fede (a trial of our faith). I think we both said some of the most sincere prayers of our lives. But it's OK we are picking ourselves up now.

Yesterday we had our zone conference so I wasn't able to see Zio Pino :( We are now planning it for the 29th. Hopefully we can work it all out that day!!!

The coolest thing of the week happened at the end of last week. Last Tuesday I got this call from this less active member and she said that she has this friend who is going through some really really hard times and she wanted to talk to the bishop so I gave his number to her. So then on Friday Anz Weller and I were doing some finding work and we looked across this huge field and saw some casa (houses) in a area that we had never done before and we both just got the feeling that we needed to head over there right at that moment so we did. So we got into our first palazzo (apartment building) in that area and I knocked on this one guys house and this super homeless looking guy answers and is like "o anziani venite venite!!" (oh Elders' come come!) so we walked in! We started talking to this man and then we come to find out that it was that guy who the lady was talking about! His name is Ortu and ya' he does need a lot of help in his life right now. And I know that the gospel is something that can really help him! I know if he just listens to us he will see miracles!!! So we went back to his house the next day and we taught him the first lesson and I invited him to be baptized and come unto Christ and he was like for sure!! So that was the cool part of the week!! His baptism is planned for in a month or so! Hopefully we can help our brother out and help him change his life around! It was just cool 'cause we both (Anz Weller and I) just got the feeling to go to that area and do work over there. We really can be tools in the Lords hands if we are willing to do what He asks of us!! So ya there is my little story for the week!!!

So about the other tie ha ha.... actually ya' it is a present. It's for anz Weller! I was on a scambio (splits) so it was my only chance to get him something without him knowing what!! haha But ya Andrews Ties is a super chill place! the Ties there are awesome!!

That is so cool about Alli and Julia!! I love those girls they are so cool!! ha ha I totally miss chilling with them! Tell them I say hi and wish them a merry Christmas!! Send me Alli and Julia's email!!! I'd love to email them and tell them merry Christmas! :) ha ha

Dad that is great that your gonna take mom to the gym starting next year!!! ha ha Do it mom don't be a pansy! Start off slow you don't need to kill yourself right at the beginning! ha ha and then when I get back you guys can take me to the gym cause I'm gonna need it too!! ha ha

I'm really glad eveything is going good at home! That makes me really happy!! :) I love you guys so much!! And just remember Christmas isn't about presents. It's about being with the family, and Chirst. :) I love you guys and am way excited to talk with you guys in a week!!

Have a great week and I'll email you guys next week!!! vi voglio bene!!!! :) (i love you all!)

Love

THINGS ARE LOOKING UP IN ALESSANDRIA

Dear Mom and Dad!!!

How are you guys doing!?! I hope all is going well! It was nice to chat with ya for a sec yesterday mom! ha ha That was fun! But ya um... for Christmas we will call around 9 to 10 your time! Not any later then 1030 your time!! ha ha I'm excited for that!

So dad your story was so so cool!!! Ah man it got me!! I really can believe that happened!!!
Keyan is a great kid!! He is gonna make a great missionary!! I'm so excited to see him out here and to see the work he's gonna be able to do!! Man I've read that like 20 times I just love hearing that!! Get on my face book and give him my email address and tell him to hit me up if he has a few minutes!!

So ya it's been kinda cold around here but actually today was a decent day!! And ya we still use our bikes ha ha thank heavens for thermal's and for scarves!!! Man I love these things they save me!!! And yes we have a heater that is finally working so now going home isn't that bad!! ha ha I'm glad you got the pic! And man you just always see the pics that seem like I haven't shaved for a bit! But I do shave a lot! I think I just like don't take pics when I shave ha ha I'll work on it though!

And yes we are hoping that Zio (Uncle) Pino can come next Wednesday! He said that if it doesn't snow that he will come down for a few hours! ha ha So now I'm praying it doesn't snow 'cause that would be awesome!! I'd love to see him another time before Christmas and before I leave here!
And dang guys I miss the Jazz games! They were always fun :) ha ha and that's super chill about the hat! I bet Brian just loves that! ha ha

Thank you guys for the stories that each of you have shared with me! That one from Uchdorff and the Give My Son one. They were both really cool and both brought the spirit!! Ya this Christmas is gonna' be a good one! If possible get Brian what he wants he totally deserves it! :) ha ha

But ya my MTC group is way ballin! Anz Palmer trained when I did and now Anz Lesa and Zanni are training too and also Anz Delosso is a DL (district leader) and there are a few others who are senior comps so ya' pretty much my group is super legit and amazing!!! There are some really solid missionaries in my group!

So ya guess what.... we are like 99% sure that Eliana is gonna finally get baptized on Saturday! Tight now I'm on a scambio (splits) with the DL and he is gonna interview her later tonight! Hopefully she just feels better and isn't sick!!! ugh sickness!!! But I know she can feel better and know that she will!!! It really has been super awesome to see the gospel change the life of her and her family!!! I just love them so much so we are so happy for them!!
Ya we have had a few rough weeks but the Lord has finally blessed us. We also heard this great news about this less active family who has a 12 year old child who isn't baptized and they want us to start meeting with them so he can get baptized!! So we are super excited about that as well! Patience really is the key! The Lord wants to see how we deal with the hard times but I know that if we are just patient and keep doing what we are supposed to that the Lord will come through and help us out!!
So ya things are going great here! ha ha Anz Weller is chill and all is going good! It's just cold! I also think I might be gaining one or two pounds!!! ha ha This food is just way to good!!! ha ha Man, Kinder ( a brand of food/sweets) is just the best thing ever invented by man! :) ha ha

Well guys I hope that all keeps going well back at home! Thanks for all you guys do! You guys are the best! Can't wait to talk to you guys some more next week! But now I gotta go there is work to be done!!
love you guys so so much!!!
Love

SNOW AND BLESSINGS AND PRE CHRISTMAS PARTY

Dear Mom and Dad!!!!

OK first of all let me tell you about the 120 euro charge....

um.... i bought and i pod 'cause president said we can have them now. i hope that's OK!!!! hahahah jk!!!!!! just playing!!! ha ha I wish that was the reason but unfortunately its not!

So on Thanksgiving we were at the church at one of the gans (young adult) things and we were taking pics and my camera fell and totally broke!!! :( i was so mad!! ugh!! So then I went to that store to get me a new camera. And that's what I bought. I bought like the same type so we can still send stuff back and forth! It's like the one I had just a little nicer. It was the cheapest one out there that was the same type! Sorry I know it was a lot... my bad. Don't worry I'll be careful with the new camera and with not spending too much money.

So I'll probably send two packages home. One with just a little bit of stuff/things that I don't wanna take around anymore and the other with some food!!! ha ha Are you sure that that's all you guys want? If there is anything else really just let me know! ha ha

I'm glad that Thanksgiving went well!! That's so fun! I love the Tubbs family I miss them and love them so much! Thanksgiving was good here too. We just chilled and put up our little Christmas tree!! ha ha It's so cute and it has lights and everything! ha ha We wore our Christmas hats and just blasted our Christmas music the whole time!! ha ha It was like a pre Christmas! ha ha it was so much fun until I dropped my camera!!

Transfers..... ya we are both staying here! We get to have Christmas and New Years together!!! I'm excited it's gonna be fun! Anz Weller and I get along great! ha ha We have taken a few video and cool pics and I'll make sure to send it right after New Years! We get along great and are doing good work together! He's gonna be a way solid missionary once he gets the Italian! He's doing really good though he is solid!

I'm glad you liked the pics and stuff! ya Nick is interesting.... he is in love with the missionaries , he's nice and we are learning patience and charity with him.

You should send me the memory card back with a video or pics or something since last time didn't work!!! ha ha

Ya it's like freezing here!!! And like snows a ton!!! ha ha So last night we took our bikes out like 30 mins away and once we got out there it started to snow! And it was like a blizzard!! It was going crazy!!! We took a video of it ha ha but it got like 10x worse then the video shows!! ha ha and then we had to ride our bikes home in it!!! It was crazy!!! ha ha Kinda fun but scary too!!!!

So I was like shoot we gotta go home to a freezing apartment, but you forget that God loves his missionaries! :) so we got home and there was heating!!! The repair man came and fixed it!! ha ha So now we are good at home!!! It was a huge blessing!!!

But ya it was nice to see my boys Dunshee and Iolnick. i love them!! And I'm the only one who does the short big tie thing!! ha ha But ya I'm trying to get it to catch on!!! We will see how that goes!! ha ha But ya its nice to have fun ties!! I'm coming home with only Italian ties :) ha ha

So ya things are going great here!! 24 days then I get to call home :) ha ha ya!!! That ll be fun! ha

I'm glad to know all is going well at home with David and with everything! In the end he is still family.

I love you guys so much! I'm glad you guys are gonna watch a bunch of movies! ha ha That'll be fun!! ha ha

Keep up the good work! Love ya dad Love ya mom!!! You guys are awesome!! Have a good time at work and at home!
Keep doing what you know is right!!! The church is true don't forget!!!! ;)

much love!!!
